After a crazy week of massive AP study sessions, I decided to throw a little birthday party for myself. It was a small gathering of a few friends. Yummy appetizers were provided by Jen, I took care of the lasagna and Susie hit a home run with this beautiful cake. It was a lemon cake with a lemon custard filing.

My students are funny as always when they find out it is my birthday, inevitably comes the questions as to my age. The older I get the more I don't want my students to know how old I really am. I still have them convinced I am in my twenties and I am happy to let them continue to believe it. I was surprised on Friday at our final assembly (held outside in a wind storm) that my students nominated me as one of the top 5 spirited teachers at school. I appreciate that they like me. I didn't win--but it was nice to be one of the royalty.

  1. I am glad it was a nice birthday. The cake does look great! We hope you got our card. We were thinking of you but totally forgot to call the day of your birthday. Have a good end to the school year!
